2013 We Are The SANTA FE SISTERS!

 This is the year we got a name and it stuck! We had a big group from Kentucky, Texas, Arizona, California and Washington. Sunny, Susan and myself were regulars; everyone else was new - not necessarily to Santa Fe but to the Sisterhood. The 1st group arriving more or less took over the Pueblo Cultural Center patio where the initial Meet and Greet took place. Other diners seemed mildly amused; asking how we knew each other. Bobbie replied - Somehow or another we all all know Becky. We're 6 degrees of Becky.

Our house was northwest of town; across the freeway - not much walking. It was a large modern condo with a casita. Seemed like every room was on a different level. We had more women than beds so several of us shared. Since Sunny and I have shared since we were babies; we were a natural.

My 1st ever deep friend pickles - wasn't sure what to expect. Wasn't to be the last. Turns out this is moments before I passed a kidney stone; I didn't know I had. Susan and Sun drove me back to Santa Fe; I alternated between go to the emergency room and turn off and kill me now!

Busy day in Taos area. Some sisters went to Taos Pueblo. MF and I stayed in Taos town; tried to stay out of the rain.

2020 Year of Pandemic and Reunion

 2020  By today, some of us should be on our way to Santa Fe. Over the years women traveled from California, Illinois, Connecticut, Texas, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Virginia, Italy, Arizona, & Washington. It's not always easy to get to the Albuquerque airport and onto Santa Fe; year after year Sisters pack their suitcases and make numerous plane changes; by afternoon and evening we are usually drinking wine, eating, Meeting and Greeting, getting to know one another or catching up with the past year. This year, thanks to Sunny's idea and Laurrie's willingness we're having a Zoom meeting/reunion. 2014 House of My Dreams

This was a special year, for me. Besides my best Cousin/Friends, Sunny and Susan; sister Lizbeth joined the SFSisters as did cousin Mikki from Italy. Mary and Dottie came with Susan. Dottie and I traveled to China together; along with Susan. It was good to catch up again. We had representation from California, Texas, Oklahoma, Kentucky and Italy. OMG! The House! It was owned by couple from Thailand. She with the national ballet and he, an artist. The house was full of art and decorative memorabilia. All of us with camera were going room to room taking pics. Also an advantage; it was an easy walk to and from the Plaza. Tell me this isn't quintessential Santa Fe! Casa Nova is our home for the next 5 days. The perfect living room for relaxing, talking and laughing. Comfy seating everywhere Arriving at the house proved problematic. Garmen GPS led us to a dead end; fenced off road. 2020 Zoom Reunion

What a fun and sometimes frustrating (we can't hear you! Why are we looking at the back of Sun's sofa? Great view of your knees!) Zoom meeting. Laurrie you handled the our usual organized chaos with aplomb.  Seriously, for me it was like being in a Santa Fe room with you. Our Zoom hour is fairly typical of a SFS gathering; someone always doing something, making a dinner plan, finding a comfy seat, sharing stories. I LOVED IT! What we didn't do is get many pics - fortunately California and Oregon didn't let us down.  Zofia, Keni & Simone Pam, Keni, Zofia & Linda Zofia Keni Cali contingent at Sun's Orange, Ca home Liz from Medford, Or There was no way with this reunion group to have our annual book discussion - as many of you didn't know we review books. We decided to continue our SFS Book Club via Zoom. The next meeting will be November. I think we said the 1st week of November but I'm thinking maybe not so much with the election that week.
