2020 Year of Pandemic and Reunion

 2020 

By today, some of us should be on our way to Santa Fe. Over the years women traveled from California, Illinois, Connecticut, Texas, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Virginia, Italy, Arizona, & Washington. It's not always easy to get to the Albuquerque airport and onto Santa Fe; year after year Sisters pack their suitcases and make numerous plane changes; by afternoon and evening we are usually drinking wine, eating, Meeting and Greeting, getting to know one another or catching up with the past year. This year, thanks to Sunny's idea and Laurrie's willingness we're having a Zoom meeting/reunion. I've included pics from past years; along with some of my memories.

2011



Sisters: Sun, Pam, Becky, Laurrie & Susan
House: we were up in the hills, large parklike estate with a swimming pool. The roof leaked, wonderful verandas, could watch the sunsets and storms. 
Sun, Susan and Becky introduced to 10,000 Waves!
Where did we eat?: Pink Adobe, never made it to the shed because downtown Santa Fe flooded.
Opera: Faust or La Boheme or both?
Bootie Table: couple of TG's beaded bracelets, silver & turquoise belt buckle and a pair of baby mocs.
Favorite Memory: Sitting on the verandas talking and laughing

2019

Sisters: Ahni, Simone, Zofia, Laurrie, Carol, Sun, Louanna
Keri, Pam, Mary Fern & Becky.
No one arrived with a broken leg or ankle or broken anything!

Where did we eat: Pink Adobe and another of Sun's fab meals
Opera: La Boheme
Bootie Table: Dress purses earrings
Fav Memory: visit to Los Luceros; late night talking with Keri and Simone


2016

Sisters: Becky, Mary Fern, Judy & Louanna
House: North side of town, owner from Oklahoma, walkable to town - past a prarie dog town ... so cool!
Where did we eat?: The Shed, a Japanese place (still trying to reconcile that one with Northern New Mexico) and ??? someone fill in my blank mind.
Opera: Apprentice Night
Bootie Table: Lou's ring! (she didn't actually leave it loose on the table!) a dress for Laurrie's son's wedding, fish painting, scarf
Favorite memory: crashing a very exclusive opera party with some very hoity-toity opera goers, celebrating some composers 300th Bday or something.

2018

Sisters: Simone, Sun, Zofia, Ahni, 
Martha, Becky & Laurrie; yes, those are wine glass glasses over our eyes! Yes, my leg and ankle are broken.
House: Capitol Casa
Where did we eat?:Pink Adobe, ???
Opera: Dr. Atomic (wow!!!), Candide, L'Italiana in Algeri
Bootie Table: matching dresses (Simone), earrings, rings, and so much more.
Fav memory: another of Sun's fab meals; later Martha had us do a round table discussion "what is the 1st thing you think when you hear the word ......?" Revealing, fun and very thought provoking.

2014

House: South of the City, fabulous gardens
Where did we eat?: The Shed, Geronimo's, Marias, The Pink Adobe,
Thunderbird, The Holler in Madrid, Pueblo Cultural Center
Opera: Carmen
Bootie Table: ???
Fav Memory: watching Mikki try taking pics of hummingbirds; The Wrong Way Sisters - Sun, Mikki, Liz & Becky; Rocking out at the Santa Fe bandstand.

2013

Sisters: Bobbie, Aimee, Susan, Georgene, Becky & Judy
Sisters: Linda, Mary Fern, Bobbie, 
Aimee, Georgene, Sun, Becky & Susan
House: Condo complex in hills north of City
Where did we eat?: Inn at Loretto, Santa Cafe, Maria's, Pueblo Culture Center, ??? and Sun cooked the 1st of her fab meals
Opera: Oscar (you either hated or loved), La Traviata & Figaro
Bootie Table: rings, scarves, purses, my turquois hat ...
Fav Memory: Days in Madrid and Taos and that Kidney Stone passed without having to go to the hospital.

2017


Sisters: Mary Fern, Becky, Susan, Zofia
Laurrie & Ahni
House: West of the city in the hills, fabulous views of the valley, lots of stairs. Only Z could walk from market!
Where did we eat?: Someplace by the opera; great Guac
Opera: The Golden Cockrell
Ahni broke leg ankle? Who knew opera could be a contact sport?
Bootie Table: ???
Fav Memory: Year of the Solistice

2012

Sisters: Becky, Pam, Emily, George & Susan
House: Not! Sandia Hotel & Casino, Albuquerque
Where did we eat: Marias, Sandia Peak and fabulous place along the river in Albuquerque.
Opera: None, too far to drive at night
Bootie Table: Em bought a drum at Taos Drum Store
Fav Mem: Cable Car to Sandia Peak for sunset and dinner.

2016 We Walked and When We Were Tired We Walked Again

This year we had a Kentucky Sisterhood - even tho Louanna lives in Virginia; I know for a fact - in her heart she's Kentucky. Both Lou and Judy were our newbies. Judy and I met at the Albuquerque airport, texting selfies to one another - we had no trouble meeting up. Within the hour Mary Fern and Louanna arrive. We take the bus to the rental car lot. While suitcases are being loaded; I'm checking out the car for damage and we're off to Santa Fe; about an hours drive. We arrive at the house, it's perfect - great layout. Suitcases are coming in; I go to the car to get mine ... you can probably tell where this is going, right? There's no Becky  suitcase in the car; I go inside to see which sweet sister brought it in - lots of blank looks. Now the sinking feeling has thudded to the floor - apparently my suitcase is still in Albuquerque at the car lot. A phone call confirms my suspicion and yes, it was still on the curb and no they can't send it to Santa Fe. We were

2014 House of My Dreams

This was a special year, for me. Besides my best Cousin/Friends, Sunny and Susan; sister Lizbeth joined the SFSisters as did cousin Mikki from Italy. Mary and Dottie came with Susan. Dottie and I traveled to China together; along with Susan. It was good to catch up again. We had representation from California, Texas, Oklahoma, Kentucky and Italy. OMG! The House! It was owned by couple from Thailand. She with the national ballet and he, an artist. The house was full of art and decorative memorabilia. All of us with camera were going room to room taking pics. Also an advantage; it was an easy walk to and from the Plaza. Tell me this isn't quintessential Santa Fe! Casa Nova is our home for the next 5 days. The perfect living room for relaxing, talking and laughing. Comfy seating everywhere Arriving at the house proved problematic. Garmen GPS led us to a dead end; fenced off road. You could see the house, you couldn't get to it. We spend 30 mins in a cramped car driving in circles;
